Frequently Asked Questions
- Question: Does credit restoration really work?
- Answer: Absolutely!! Between the number reporting errors that regularly occur, and the multiple opportunities for credit optimization, there is no question that that a good credit restoration firm like CCIG can have a significant positive affect on our customers credit rating.
- Question: How long will it take to improve my credit rating/scores?
- Answer: It is impossible to predict how long it will take any particular customer to see a marked improvement of their credit rating/score . There are many factors that could affect that time frame including how quickly you send us your credit report, and how many adverse or incorrect items are listed on your credit reports. Typically, most customers see some improvement within the first 60 days, but to get the full benefit of our program will normally take anywhere from 6-12 months.
- Question: Will my credit scores drop if I pull a credit report?
- Answer: No, the only time someone's credit score may drop is if there are too many "hard pull" inquiries in a short amount of time. Hard pulls occur when you apply for a mortgage, credit card, car loan, etc. When a consumer requests their own credit report, it is considered a "soft pull", and will not cause credit scores to drop.
- Question: How do I send you my credit reports?
- Answer: After you sign up we will provide you with easy instructions for obtaining your credit reports and delivering them to us. You can order your credit report from either one of our preferred vendors, or annualcreditreport.com. If you order from one of our preferred vendors, we will credit the cost from your initial setup fee.
- Question: What is a credit score?
- Answer: A credit score is a three digit number ranging between 300-850 that is based on a borrowers bill-paying history and debt profile (the higher the better). Lenders use to this information to determine the likelihood of certain credit behaviors, including whether or not you pay your bills on time.
- Question: What factors influence a credit score?
- Answer: There are five categories that influence the calculation of a credit score. Those categories are listed below and ranked in the order of importance:
- Payment History
- Account Balances
- Length of Credit History
- Amount of New Credit
- Types of Credit Used
- Question: Why are all three of my credit score different?
- Answer: Though the same criterion is considered, different companies developed each of the three scoring models. Also, some lending institutions may only report credit information to certain bureaus. Therefore, even though the scores may vary, the difference between the three scores is usually relatively minor.
- Question: Do you have any type of referral program?
- Answer: We are glad you asked that question. Referrals are very important to us since they make up the biggest segment of our customer base. So if any new customer enrolls in our program and stays in for at least 90 days, we will gladly credit the referring customers account $50. If the referring customer is no longer enrolled in our program, we will send them a check in the mail.
- Question: Can I do my own credit restoration?
- Answer: Everyone has the legal right to do their own credit restoration if they so choose. However, most people have very busy lives and do not have the time or the patience so we would rather you leave it to us. We know how to speak the language of the credit industry, and have developed a very efficient system to navigate through all of the red tape.
- Question: Is it possible that a negative trade line previously removed from my credit report could reappear in the future?
- Answer: It is possible that on occasion a creditor could re-report information that we had previously removed from your credit report. However, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) makes it much more difficult for those creditors to re-report deleted information. And if they do re-report the information, it is a legal requirement that you be notified in writing. In the rare event adverse or incorrect information is re-reported on your credit report, we will send additional disputes for any of our active clients.
- Question: Can I cancel your service at any time?
- Answer: Yes, you can cancel your service with us at any time. However, we make it clear to anyone that is considering enrolling in our program that credit restoration does not happen over night. Just like building good credit takes time, restoring damaged credit also takes time.
- Question: How does your refund policy work?
- Answer: If we fail to provide an acceptable level of satisfaction in a given month, you will not be billed for that month, or will be refunded your fees for that month if your payment has already been processed.
